Dr. Yuebing Lu once engaged in research and consulting work on industrial policies and opening strategies at the Development Research Center of the State Council. Later, he served as vice president of Ford Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., responsible for the establishment of the Changan Ford joint venture. When he was the executive vice president of Alstom (China) Investment Co., Ltd., he successfully introduced China's first high-speed rail in 2005. He also founded Climate Change Capital Group in London in 2006 and invested US$1 billion in low-carbon technology and carbon trading. After that, he served as the vice president and chief investment officer of China Construction Bank Investment Co., Ltd., and invested nearly RMB 20 billion in domestic RMB PE funds and domestic enterprises. Later, he served as the vice chairman of Shanggao Capital China Fund invested by CIC. This fund of funds invests in nearly 80 private equity funds and venture capital funds in the Chinese market, and directly or indirectly invests in nearly 800 Chinese companies.
Dr. Yuebing Lu holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge. In addition, Dr. Lu also serves as an honorary senior researcher at the University of Birmingham and deputy director of the Research Center for Enterprise Growth and Economic Security at Tsinghua University. Dr. Lu's translation "Venture Investment, Private Equity and Venture Capital" and his book "Private Equity LP: Strategy, Operation and Management Practice" are must-read books for GPs and LPs in the domestic PE/VC investment community.
